The Lemich Clinic for Military Mental Health was founded on the belief that everyone who serves should have access to high quality, confidential, mental health care. Most of our clients are active duty service members stationed here in Hampton Roads. Our clients not in uniform are mostly military spouses and veterans.
We are seeking a part-time, in-person, Medical Billing Specialist to work the closing shift at our clinic. The Lemich Clinic is open Monday through Friday and is closed on Federal Holidays.
Standard Hours:
Monday 1PM-6PM
Tuesday 1PM-6PM
Wednesday 1PM-6PM
Thursday 2PM-7PM
Friday 12PM-5PM
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in a related field and/or 3 years of experience required
- Knowledge of medical terminology, computer skills, ICD-10/CPT coding and third party payer insurance and billing processes
Responsibilities:
- Processes and posts patient and payer payments accurately
- Perform daily reconciliation of explanation of benefits (EOB), and electronic remittance advices (ERA)
- Identifies payment variances and documents patient account as appropriate
- Acts as a liaison for the practice and between subsidiaries, affiliates, finance, insurance, patient and other issues surrounding billing processes
- Updates patient and payer account balances
- Reports to the Office Manager
- Office End-of-Day Closing Tasks
