Job Description:

Diageo is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Asset Care Manager to join our team in Shelbyville. As a key member of our Engineering and Maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the optimal performance and maintenance of our assets, driving efficiency and productivity, and contributing to the success of our global beverage alcohol business.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide strategic leadership and guidance on process, design, and engineering required for the proper planning, budgeting, design, and implementation of projects.
  • Implement process enhancements to improve processes and efficiency, applying visual factory concepts to improve asset utilization and plant performance.
  • Direct and build the capability of Team Leads and craftsmen, tracking standard manufacturing measures and prioritizing and planning plant maintenance opportunities.
  • Assume a key role in Governance, observing and acting on Diageo's CoBC, and deciding on the type and extent of plant engineering and related programs for accomplishing strategies and objectives for Shelbyville.
  • Create and oversee Plant Capex, Departmental, and Maintenance budgets, ensuring the right fiscal controls are in place and observed.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance and control in all areas, meeting or exceeding the annual plan for budget and critical metrics, which includes proposing cost-saving proposals and project summaries, including alternatives and recommendations.
  • Prepare bid packages, scope of work, equipment specifications, and oversee direct and/or indirect reports and outside contractors.
  • Establish and lead project teams, providing engineering and technical expertise to achieve lowest cost while providing high-quality products and customer service levels.
  • Identify, implement, and promote technology to improve safety, quality, efficiencies, productivity, and reduce cost, developing Diageo culture, principles, and values.
  • Energize, Engage, and Develop People, and perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Minimum of 8 years of technical/production/engineering/maintenance management in consumer products/goods or manufacturing.
  • Shown success performing as a manager in a production organization, with a consistent record of running multiple projects technically and financially.
  • Leadership, with demonstrated capability in setting objectives, defining roles, assigning tasks, motivating to success, exhibiting outstanding team building and communication skills, and ability to influence, persuade, convince, compromise, build consensus, and resolve conflict.
  • Technical Competence, with in-depth knowledge of project management, technical operations, and engineering, and an Engineering Degree, BSME, BSEE, or BS ChE preferred.
