Position Overview

We are in search of a committed Day Porter with a strong background in facility upkeep to become a part of our team. The perfect candidate will possess experience in managing high-rise properties and will be tasked with maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and overall upkeep of the premises during daytime hours. The Senior Day Porter will be responsible for training and mentoring fellow Day Porter team members, ensuring adherence to standards, compliance, and satisfaction of tenants and customers. This role will also involve tracking supplies, managing inventory lists as needed, and serving as the primary liaison with Property Management while assisting the assigned Lead or Supervisor for the onsite Day Porter Team. The Senior Day Porter will operate under the direct oversight of the Property Manager of the designated building and report to the Supervisor of Day Porters.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute day porter duties in accordance with the cleaning scope for the buildings, including mopping, vacuuming, sweeping, trash disposal, interior/exterior clean-up, polishing/glass cleaning, and other assigned tasks.
  • Address, prioritize, and fulfill assigned work orders through the MRI Workspeed work order tracking system.
  • Conduct daily inspections of all common areas and follow up with assigned staff on findings.
  • Assist in monitoring day porter team performance metrics and KPIs, including completion and response times.
  • Facilitate coordination with staff to respond to and complete work orders efficiently through MRI Workspeed procedures.
  • Take on additional responsibilities as delegated by Management.
  • Coordinate and communicate with Engineering/Maintenance Staff as necessary.
  • Engage with tenants, customers, and building occupants effectively.
  • Adhere to all relevant codes, regulations, and company directives related to building operations while practicing safe work habits.
  • Maintain a courteous, neat, and professional appearance in proper uniform, consistently representing the Company in an ethical manner.
  • Assist in tracking inventory of all supplies and ordering materials as needed; ensure adequate supply of common and special parts, tools, and equipment required by the Supervisor group.
  • Perform light maintenance tasks as needed, such as unclogging toilets, tightening screws, changing minor light bulbs and batteries, and other duties as assigned by management.
  • Implement Continuum Day porter operation and maintenance standards to ensure safety, efficiency, and operational longevity for all OSHA-related equipment.
  • Support the Property Manager and Supervisor in ensuring compliance with all governmental codes, laws, and regulations.
  • Exhibit a willingness to accept new and challenging assignments.

Education, Experience, and Skills Required

  • A minimum of three years of prior experience in janitorial services; experience in maintenance and commercial office environments is preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and adapt to frequent schedule changes.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to interact positively and professionally with co-workers, tenants, contractors, and the public.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of safety protocols relevant to commercial buildings.
  • Proficiency in using personal computers, handheld communication devices, and familiarity with CMMS software such as MRI Workspeed, Dayforce, Outlook, etc.
  • Maintain a courteous, neat, and professional appearance in proper uniform, consistently representing the Company in an ethical manner.
