Job Overview:

Position: Project Engineer

Location: Belmont, NC

Compensation: $65,000-$95,000/year. Comprehensive Benefits (Health, Dental, Vision, 401K, PTO, ESOP)

Role Summary:

The chosen candidate will engage in the bidding process and oversee ongoing projects while also contributing to the development of new initiatives. Experience in project supervision and field management, along with client engagement in environmental, industrial, or utility sectors, is advantageous. Typical clientele includes municipal water and wastewater departments and Civil Engineering Consultants.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, organize, and direct activities related to environmental maintenance service projects. Prepare, disseminate, and oversee project budgets, bids, agreements, and contracts.
  • Establish project objectives, policies, procedures, and performance standards within the framework of company policy and contract specifications.
  • Prepare, negotiate, and maintain oversight of all potential project change orders while tracking all project costs.
  • Develop and update project timelines.
  • Act as the liaison between clients, site operators, and company employees to facilitate project activities.
  • Monitor project progress, attend project meetings, and prepare and submit status reports.
  • Oversee projects through the direction of on-site supervisors to ensure timely and budget-compliant completion.
  • Interpret and clarify plans and contract terms to administrative staff, workers, and clients.
  • Develop and prepare detailed technical final project reports, emphasizing accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Collaborate with dispatchers to assign workers to project sites.
  • Prioritize safety, demonstrating conscientiousness, dependability, and a commitment to quality.
  • Exhibit a willingness to work collaboratively within a team.
  • Travel may be required.
  • Perform all duties in accordance with applicable safety and security standards as assigned by management.
Qualifications
  • Proficient understanding of contract administration, project management, engineering principles, budgeting, accounting, and scheduling techniques.
  • Goal-oriented, action-focused, pragmatic, self-disciplined, and organized.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to motivate and delegate effectively to achieve project goals.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the capacity to engage effectively in a team environment with diverse stakeholders to foster cooperative working relationships.
  • Ability to prepare written documents and final project reports with clarity and proper grammar.
  • Capability to read and interpret plans and specifications.
  • Adept at analyzing complex problems, interpreting project needs, and developing innovative solutions.
  • Physical capability to perform work in both indoor and outdoor settings, sometimes in challenging environments.
  • Ability to successfully complete safety training exams and background checks as required by the company and clients.
