Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Registered Nurse to join our team at the Commonwealth of Virginia. As a Registered Nurse, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our healthcare team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide nursing care to adult patients in a correctional setting, utilizing the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
  • Administer medications, perform sick call screenings, and provide patient education to promote health and wellness.
  • Document patient information in the health record, maintaining confidentiality and collaborating with other departments as needed.
  • Delegate tasks and workload to ensure efficient and effective patient care.
  • Provide coverage as needed to meet institutional needs and participate in education and certification programs to maintain competence.
Requirements
  • Valid unrestricted Virginia RN license (or NCLEX-RN Exam scheduled at time of application for recent graduates).
  • Certified Basic Life Support (BLS) for healthcare providers with current certification through American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC).
  • Experience in a correctional setting is preferred.
