Job Summary
This position provides direct patient care to individuals over the age of 65 in a psychiatric facility. The successful candidate will work as part of a multidisciplinary team to deliver person-centered mental health services, enabling older adults to thrive in the community.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide individualized care to patients, including assistance with activities of daily living and social skills development
- Collaborate with nurses and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement treatment plans
- Contribute to a safe and therapeutic environment, promoting patient well-being and dignity
- Participate in unit-based treatment teams to ensure comprehensive care
Requirements
- Valid Driver's License
- Licensure as a Certified Nurse Assistant by the Virginia Department of Health Professions
- Basic computer knowledge
Preferred Qualifications
- Healthcare experience, particularly in long-term care and nursing homes
- Previous psychiatric experience
- Knowledge of nursing scope of practice
- Bilingual Spanish and English
