About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Field Engineer to join our Machinery and Equipment Specialties department. As a Field Engineer, you will be responsible for providing machinery and equipment boiler inspections in our Des Moines, Iowa territory. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a talented team and contribute to the success of our company.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain territory's jurisdictional boiler and pressure vessel certificate inspections
  • Efficiently and effectively manage the territory for which you are responsible
  • Educate agents on how to market machinery and equipment to their clients
  • Serve as a professional resource to our insurance agents as they retain business and increase the value of their marketing efforts
  • Provide high-level claims service to our local independent insurance agents
Requirements
  • Good time management skills
  • Solid interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to react professionally under stressful situations to successfully resolve issues
  • Ability to work independently without close supervision
  • Ability to effectively interact and work well with different departments at our company
  • Ability to prepare meaningful and precise reports
Preferred Qualifications
  • Engineering or technically-based bachelor's degree or other qualifying boiler and pressure vessel work experience
  • Ability to work independently to accomplish initiatives
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Excellent problem-solving, negotiation, organizational, and prioritization skills
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office tools and related software
  • Valid driver's license
