The Customer Support Business Group at Lam Research is dedicated to providing our clients with exceptional support throughout their journey with our advanced technologies.
Your Role
As a Service Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the optimal performance of our sophisticated semiconductor equipment. Your responsibilities will extend beyond mere installations and troubleshooting; you will be pivotal in understanding customer requirements and collaborating with diverse teams to deliver effective solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality on-site repair, maintenance, and installation services for Lam's intricate electro-mechanical and electronic systems at client locations.
- Engage in analytical problem-solving and troubleshooting, performing diagnostics to identify issues at the component level, and implementing corrective measures to minimize downtime and equipment failures.
- Stay informed about semiconductor capital equipment and Lam products through ongoing training and certification.
- Maintain comprehensive records and reports to facilitate coordination between Lam and our clients.
- Act as a subject matter expert, representing Lam to our esteemed customers and ensuring exceptional satisfaction.
- Foster transparent communication regarding opportunities and challenges with clients to build trust.
- Provide updates to clients on the status of Lam tools as necessary.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- A Bachelor's degree in Electronics, Engineering, or a related field with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience; or an advanced degree without experience; or equivalent professional experience.
- Proficiency in interpreting electrical and mechanical schematics, diagrams, and operational manuals.
- Ability to work in a cleanroom environment while adhering to safety protocols.
- Physical capability to perform job tasks for extended periods, including bending, stooping, reaching, walking, sitting, twisting, squatting, kneeling, climbing, and standing.
- Willingness to travel frequently, both domestically and internationally, based on client needs, with flexibility to work various shifts, including compressed and alternative workweeks, as well as overtime and on-call duties when required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with basic computer skills and common office software, including Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience in the installation, maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of semiconductor capital equipment is advantageous.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, in English.
- Foundational analytical and problem-solving abilities.
