Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Field Service Systems/Applications Engineer to join our team at Bruker. As a key member of our service organization, you will be responsible for providing technical support and application expertise to our customers, ensuring the optimal performance and utilization of our metrology and instrumentation products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Instrument Installation and Qualification
    • Install and qualify Bruker metrology equipment and instrumentation, including setup and interconnection of sub-components and assemblies.
    • Independently troubleshoot and resolve start-up issues using creative solutions.
    • Qualify instruments and accessories using standard customer samples.
  • Customer Support and Diagnostics
    • Work directly with customers to diagnose and resolve instrument issues, including complex electro-mechanical hardware and software problems.
    • Develop and execute efficient solution plans, often with minimal guidance or documentation.
    • Collaborate with internal and external teams to resolve complex issues.
  • Preventative Maintenance and Calibration
    • Perform basic maintenance and calibration of instruments and accessories.
    • Re-certify instruments using Bruker and customer samples.
  • Application Support and Training
    • Empower customers to optimize instrument performance through support and instruction.
    • Teach theory of operation and train new users on instrument operation.
    • Demonstrate instrument capabilities on Bruker or customer samples.
    • Provide post-sale user and application training and support samples.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 5 years of related experience with a Technical degree; or 3 years and a Bachelor degree; or a Masters degree without experience.
  • Proven understanding of engineering problem-solving methods, statistical process control, and Gauge repeatability and reproducibility calculations.
  • Proven experience in analytical capability, theoretical understanding of physics, working knowledge of electronics, mechanics, control systems, computers, networking, and common tooling.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
