Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Optical Engineer to join our team focused on the design, development, and integration/assembly of subsea fiber optic cable systems. This role will work to develop advanced, next-generation technologies for our long-haul optical systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Create comprehensive requirement documentation governing the assembly and integration of subsea cable systems.
  • Collaborate seamlessly with cross-functional teams to continually monitor and enhance system construction and installation processes.
  • Collaborate closely with cable and hardware development teams to support optical characterizations and detailed evaluations of fiber performance.
  • Establish a strong interface with fiber suppliers and oversee their optical performance testing.
  • Actively participate in Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA) and Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA) initiatives.
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Optical Engineering, Physics, or equivalent is required; Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum 8 years' experience in optical transmission, coupled with a deep knowledge of optical fiber characterization and testing methodologies.
  • Proficiency in utilizing software tools including LabView, MatLab, and the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to drive complex problems to root cause and implement effective solutions.
