Quality Assurance Engineer

MAU Workforce Solutions is seeking a Quality Engineer for a prominent manufacturing client. In this role, you will adhere to the safety protocols of the organization and contribute to a safe and healthy work environment. Your responsibilities will include training new staff, reporting unsafe practices, and recognizing commendable health and safety performance.
Shift Details:
- Evening Shift: 7:00 PM – 5:00 PM
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related discipline
- Familiarity with PPAP and submission process systems or equivalent
- Experience with internal auditing
- Understanding of OEM specifications, standards, and quality systems
- Proficiency in AIAG core tools such as FMEA, Control Plan, SPC, MSA, APQP, and PPAP
General Qualifications:
- Strong communication skills, capable of engaging effectively with personnel at all levels
- Willingness to undergo training to fulfill job responsibilities while aligned with business operations
Key Responsibilities:
- Comprehend employee rights under OSHA, EEOC, and FLSA, ensuring no discrimination against employees exercising their rights
- Utilize appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to establish and maintain workplace standards
- Promptly report any accidents or injuries and actively participate in investigations and resolution of action items
- Maintain knowledge of workplace health and safety concerning public and visitor interactions
- Collaborate with program managers, engineers, and manufacturing teams to coordinate all PPAP activities, ensuring timely and accurate submissions
- Regularly update clients on the status and timing of PPAP submissions
- Facilitate effective communication regarding quality issues identified by clients, which may involve travel to client locations
- Conduct thorough root cause analyses and implement permanent corrective actions for client quality concerns, ensuring documentation in the appropriate databases
- Respond to all customer complaints within specified timeframes
- Establish boundary samples with clients for subjective quality assessments
- Assist manufacturing departments in developing Control Plans and Work Instructions in line with PFMEAs, Process Flows, and quality system procedures
- Engage in cross-functional APQP meetings to address open issues and necessary actions
- Conduct supplier quality system surveys in accordance with ISO/IATF 16949 standards
- Support the Supplier Quality Engineer by reviewing and approving supplier PPAPs and participating in supplier run-at-rate trials as needed
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to meet departmental performance goals
- Execute job responsibilities in compliance with the Supplier Quality Manual and ISO/IATF 16949 procedures
- Perform additional tasks as required
Physical Requirements:
This position may necessitate the following, with or without reasonable accommodation:
- Ability to sit for extended periods of up to 8 hours
- Capability to stand, walk, or climb stairs for a minimum of 8 hours continuously
- Ability to lift weights of 25 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally
Travel Requirements:
- Travel within and outside of the country is necessary
