Job Summary

The Vice President for Financial Affairs at Terra State Community College is a key leadership position responsible for overseeing the college's financial operations and ensuring the fiscal health of the institution. This role serves as the Treasurer, as defined by Ohio Revised Code, and is a member of the President's Executive Team and the College Leadership Team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Operations: Manage and oversee the college's financial systems, processes, and reporting, including financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with financial regulatory, legal, and administrative standards, including financial reporting and auditing.
  • Financial Planning and Budgeting: Develop and implement financial plans, budgets, and forecasts, including revenue projections, subsidy projections, and fund balance projections.
  • Investment and Cash Management: Oversee the college's investments, cash management, and debt management, including monitoring cash flow and ensuring the timely collection of accounts receivable.
  • Business Services: Provide support and advice to the Terra College Foundation in the areas of investments, financial management, and fundraising.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or related field required; Master's degree preferred.
  • Experience: 3-5 years in senior-level financial/business management, preferably in a higher education institution.
  • Skills and Abilities: Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with college faculty, staff, administrators, and governing boards; experience in operational and strategic planning, policy development, and financial analysis; ability to effectively communicate ideas and information in written and oral format.
Supervisory Responsibilities

The Vice President for Financial Affairs will supervise the Financial Services Team, including the Controller, Accounting Specialists, Cashiers, and Business Office Associate.

Preferred Qualifications
  • CPA Certification: Preferred.
  • State Knowledge: Specific state knowledge regarding Ohio Board of Regents, Ohio Attorney General, and Ohio State Auditor preferred.
