Job Summary

Motivate and direct the work of production employees to ensure the manufacture of products consistent with Company expectations and customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Motivate, develop, and direct the work of production employees.
  • Set clear expectations for performance, hold production employees accountable to work standards, and appraise performance on an ongoing basis.
  • Identify developmental needs of production employees, provide coaching, mentoring, and necessary resources for production employees to expand their job knowledge, skills, and abilities.
  • Train employees on processes and methods required to achieve Company standards for quality, quantity, and safety.
  • Assist in the recruitment and orientation of production employees.
  • Monitor work of production employees to ensure that all production, quality, housekeeping, and safety procedures are being followed.
  • Verify conformance of finished work piece to specifications through the use of various inspection measuring equipment.
  • Interpret complicated and involved sketches, routings, and product specifications.
  • Analyze work orders, production schedules, and other reports to determine production requirements and evaluate current production estimates and outputs.
  • Collaborate with Production Control to establish work schedules, assignments, and production sequences to meet production goals and ensure a smooth transition between work shifts.
  • Confer with other supervisors and management to coordinate and improve the efficiency of operations and activities within or between departments.
  • Assist Engineering with product and process development.
  • Apply knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, and resource allocation to maximize manufacturing efficiencies and drive process improvements.
  • Actively participate in management, production, quality, and training meetings.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, benchmarking state-of-the-art practices, and participating in professional organizations and networks.
  • Report reasonable suspicion of drug or alcohol use, consistent with Ace Precision's Drug and Alcohol Testing policy and procedures.
  • Proceed with minimal supervision.
  • Maintain or exceed production standards through efficient organization and planning.
  • Demonstrate thorough knowledge of and conformity with Ace Precision Quality System work instruction requirements that govern production operations.
  • Follow and comply with safety policies and procedures.
  • Accurately complete all required documentation.
  • Meet attendance policy requirements.
  • Contribute to team effort by assisting in areas as needed.
Supervisory Responsibilities

Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Company policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include: training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing employee complaints and resolving problems with the assistance of Human Resources; maintaining positive employee-employer relations; and handling confidential employee issues with discretion.

Education and Experience

Associate's Degree in Manufacturing, Business, or related field, with three years of supervisory or lead experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel, is essential.

Language Skills

Ability to read English and understand sketches, routings, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to communicate effectively with employees and other Company stakeholders. Must possess excellent writing skills. All communications must be thorough and handled with professional expertise.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to work with mathematical concepts of algebra, geometry, and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Requires considerable initiative and decision-making judgment. Must be detail-oriented, with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, assess priorities to meet deadlines, recognize workflow, and carefully plan short and long-term projects. Results-oriented, self-starter with the ability to think strategically and effectively work as part of a team.
