Mechanical and Plumbing Pre-Construction Specialist

LC Staffing is seeking a dedicated Mechanical and Plumbing Pre-Construction Specialist to join our team. This role is essential for individuals with a robust background in the mechanical and plumbing industries, focusing on meticulous pre-construction planning that is crucial for project success.

Key Responsibilities

Pre-Construction Detailing:
  • Develop detailed 3D models utilizing Revit for mechanical and plumbing systems.
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, and construction teams to ensure designs are feasible and meet project specifications.
  • Identify potential design issues early and propose solutions to minimize risks.
Take-Offs and Estimating:
  • Perform thorough material take-offs using Trimble MEP estimating software for precise cost assessments.
  • Utilize Trimble Scanning and Layout Tools for accurate measurement and estimation tasks.
  • Prepare and review bid packages, ensuring all necessary components and labor are accounted for in the estimates.
  • Analyze project plans to determine and quantify material needs, labor costs, and timelines.
Collaboration and Communication:
  • Work closely with project managers, engineers, and construction teams to ensure effective communication and coordination throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Engage in pre-construction meetings, offering insights and technical expertise to aid in project planning and execution.
  • Contribute to value engineering efforts to optimize project costs while maintaining quality standards.

Qualifications:
  • At least 5 years of experience in pre-construction detailing and take-off, specifically within the mechanical and plumbing sectors.
  • Proven proficiency in using Trimble for measurement and estimation tasks.
  • Extensive experience with Revit for 3D modeling.
  • Ability to interpret complex architectural and engineering drawings and specifications.
  • In-depth knowledge of industry standards, codes, and regulations pertaining to mechanical and plumbing systems.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality work.
  • Capability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously, meeting deadlines and prioritizing effectively.
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred. Certification in Project Management (e.g., PMP) or Estimating (e.g., ASPE) is a plus.
