Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Technician to join our team at 347 Group, Inc. as a Construction Equipment Specialist. In this role, you will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of a variety of construction equipment and vehicles.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine preventive maintenance on fleet vehicles to ensure optimal performance and extend their lifespan.
  • Utilize computerized maintenance management systems to create repair orders and track maintenance activities.
  • Manage parts inventory and vendor relationships to ensure timely and cost-effective procurement of replacement parts.
  • Coordinate small tool repairs and maintenance to prevent equipment downtime.
  • Document PM reports and equipment repair logs to track maintenance history and identify areas for improvement.
  • Carry out hydraulic, engine, air brake, and chassis repairs to restore equipment to operational condition.
  • Handle repairs of construction fleet equipment, including heavy equipment diagnosis and repair.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision, using your expertise and judgment to make decisions.
  • Travel to job sites as needed for field repairs, providing on-site maintenance and repair services.

Requirements:

  • Prior experience in repairing hydraulic automotive and diesel engines, with a strong understanding of engine mechanics and repair techniques.
  • Familiarity with air brake repairs, with certification in air brake systems a plus.
  • Knowledge of computer diagnostics on vehicles, including troubleshooting and repair of complex systems.
  • Experience in fabrication and welding, with the ability to create and repair equipment components.
  • Chassis repair expertise, with the ability to diagnose and repair complex chassis issues.
  • Experience with heavy equipment diagnosis and repair, including the ability to identify and repair complex equipment issues.
  • Aerial device experience desirable, with the ability to operate and maintain aerial equipment.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience as a heavy equipment mechanic, with a strong track record of maintenance and repair.
  • Valid driver's license, with a clean driving record.

Overtime may be required during peak periods, with the company providing a vehicle for work purposes.
