About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled ATF Compliance Manager to join our team at Canik USA. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and regulations related to firearms, including the Gun Control Act (GCA), National Firearms Act (NFA), Arms Export Control Act (AECA), and Export Administration Regulations (EAR).

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and Implement Compliance Programs: Create, maintain, and periodically review policies and procedures to ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.
  • Supervise Compliance Staff: Oversee the maintenance and execution of all ATF Compliance functions, including supervising other compliance staff.
  • Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Work closely with departments such as Controller, Engineering, Human Resources, IT, Quality & CI, Operations, and Legal to ensure compliance issues are directed to the appropriate channels for investigation and resolution.
  • Consult with External Experts: Consult with outside legal counsel as needed to resolve complex compliance issues.
  • Maintain Regulatory Relationships: Establish and maintain relationships with regulatory agencies, including the ATF, and facilitate visits to Canik USA facilities.
  • Investigate and Resolve Compliance Issues: Respond to alleged violations of rules, regulations, policies, and procedures by evaluating or recommending the initiation of investigative procedures.
  • Monitor and Coordinate Compliance Activities: Monitor and coordinate compliance activities across departments to ensure ongoing compliance and identify trends.
  • Identify and Mitigate Compliance Risks: Identify potential areas of compliance vulnerability and risk, develop corrective action plans, and provide guidance on how to avoid or deal with similar situations in the future.
  • Communicate Compliance Efforts: Ensure proper reporting of violations or potential violations to authorized enforcement agencies and maintain an effective compliance communication program.
  • Develop and Maintain Compliance Training: Work with Human Resources to maintain an effective compliance training program, including introductory training for new employees and ongoing training for identified employees and managers.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university.
  • Experience: Minimum of 4-6 years of experience in compliance areas related to ATF.
  • Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, ability to coordinate and manage efforts with third-party advisors, and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Travel: Ability to travel to compliance training seminars (e.g., NSSF-sponsored Import/Export Conference) (between 2 and 3 times per year).
