Objective
To supervise and lead the Emergency Department Billing team and its associated processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage all personnel within the Emergency Department Billing division
- Oversee the training and development of new hires and those transitioning into new roles
- Collaborate with departmental managers to address and resolve internal issues
- Design and implement new workflows while enhancing existing ones
- Disseminate new client information to department leaders and staff
- Assess staff workload and productivity
- Conduct reviews of employee audits
- Supervise daily operations of the Emergency Department Billing follow-up
- Ensure staff are well-informed of job expectations and company standards, and take corrective actions when necessary
- Foster a collaborative team atmosphere through:
- Timely and effective communication regarding departmental and organizational initiatives
- Adjusting processes to enhance efficiency
- Resolving conflicts among team members
- Encouraging constructive feedback within the team
- Oversee the recruitment process by:
- Identifying staffing needs
- Posting job openings internally
- Participating in the screening and interview processes with team managers
- Ensure compliance with all relevant state and federal regulations, including HIPAA Privacy and Security
- Ensure adherence to the Code of Conduct and compliance policies by departmental managers and staff
- Administer appropriate disciplinary actions for compliance violations
- Review and validate time and attendance records in accordance with company policies
- Provide ongoing feedback and conduct annual performance evaluations for direct reports, as well as monitoring evaluations for other staff
- Uphold the organization’s mission, vision, and values
- Proactively monitor company policies and address any violations appropriately
- Facilitate departmental meetings and present to senior management as required
- Ensure compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal laws and regulations related to operations and employment
Qualifications
To excel in this role, candidates must demonstrate the ability to perform each responsibility effectively. The following qualifications are essential:
Education
A Bachelor's degree is preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Technical Skills
Proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet, and internet software, particularly MS Excel and MS Word, is required.
Experience
- Demonstrated strong computer skills, including advanced knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet software
- Proven management experience overseeing large, multi-task teams
Specific Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Ability to learn and adapt to new software
- Understanding of the company's infrastructure, including its capabilities and limitations

- Proficient in managing one or multiple teams
