Job Title: Chief Financial Officer

The Maryland Department of Emergency Management (MDEM) is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Financial Officer to join our team. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for overseeing the financial management of the department, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations, and providing strategic financial guidance to support the department's mission.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement financial plans and budgets to support the department's goals and objectives
  • Oversee the financial management of the department, including financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting
  • Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, including financial reporting and auditing requirements
  • Provide strategic financial guidance to support the department's mission and goals
  • Collaborate with other departments and agencies to ensure effective financial management and compliance
Requirements:
  • Master's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field
  • At least 6 years of experience in financial management, including experience in budgeting, financial reporting, and compliance
  • Proven track record of success in financial management, including experience in leading financial teams and implementing financial plans
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and make informed decisions
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders
