POSITION FOR CIVIL SITE ENGINEERING SPECIALIST

Holtec International is in search of a Civil Site Engineering Specialist to support the oversight of construction initiatives at various Nuclear Power Facilities throughout the United States.

Key Responsibilities:

The Civil Site Engineering Specialist will report to both the Civil Engineering Manager and the Construction Program Manager. The responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Deliver engineering assistance for projects at different phases of design, cost estimation, and construction execution.
  • Support Estimators in analyzing proposal specifications and drawings to define the scope of work and necessary elements for estimates.
  • Help Estimators by performing comprehensive takeoffs of the work scope.
  • Review and integrate historical data from purchase orders, subcontracts, productivity analysis reports, etc., into unit and labor-hour calculations.
  • Contribute to the preparation of bid documentation.
  • Assist in the development of procedural documentation.
  • Support Construction Managers/Project Managers in the formulation and upkeep of construction timelines.
  • Maintain project documentation and logs.
  • Receive, assess, forward, and monitor the status of submittals and change orders.
  • Initiate, prepare, review, track, and disseminate Requests for Information (RFIs).
  • Update construction timelines based on input from the project team.
  • Monitor and inspect material deliveries.
  • Assist in compiling monthly project status reports for owners.
  • Participate in project meetings and document meeting notes.
  • Support project close-out activities.
Qualifications/Requirements:
  • The ideal candidate will possess a degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management and have 1 to 10 years of relevant experience.
  • Familiarity with civil construction elements such as concrete, rebar, soil, underground utilities, and drainage systems is essential.
  • Willingness to travel over 50% of the time for assignments, following an initial training and acclimatization period.
  • Proficient PC skills in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint are required.
  • Experience with Primavera and AutoCAD is preferred but not mandatory.
