This position will supervise and coordinate work activities within Holtec and its subcontractors concerning balance of plant structures, systems, and components.
The responsibilities include providing design configurations with critical operability insights to guarantee functionality, enhance reliability and cost-effectiveness, and ensure adherence to U.S. nuclear industry best practices.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee the engineering execution and supervision of balance of plant systems, including turbine generators, auxiliary systems, cooling water systems, utility systems, and various mechanical process systems.
Facilitate the creation and validation of system documentation such as P&IDs, design descriptions, specifications, logic diagrams, process flow calculations, and equipment sizing.
Advise on system and component design requirements and methodologies, including integration of components and products within the balance of plant and with nuclear island structures, systems, and components.
Assist in the formulation of equipment specifications for Balance of Plant equipment and major subcontractors.
Support the evaluation of system configurations to meet startup and shutdown objectives for the balance of plant.
Encourage knowledge sharing within a cross-functional BOP engineering team, encompassing various traditional engineering disciplines.
Contribute to the development of Safety Analysis Report contents.
Minimum Qualifications:
10+ years of experience in process engineering, chemical engineering, or power plant engineering applications, or a closely related field.
Bachelor's Degree in Chemical, Mechanical, or Nuclear Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
Proven experience with balance of plant systems, including steam, water, air, electric, and waste heat systems.
Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Exceptional attention to detail and ability to produce error-free documentation.
Robust problem-solving and computer skills.
Preferred Additional Qualifications:
Experience in commercial PWR plants.
Familiarity with PWR nuclear island systems.

Infrequent travel expected (< 5%)
