Position Overview:
The Principal Architect, Systems plays a crucial role, acting as a strategist, designer, analyst, customer advocate, and influential leader in both business and technology sectors. This individual is skilled in fostering professional relationships and is key in guiding the execution of T-Mobile's Procurement and Supply Chain operations.

Key Responsibilities:
The Principal Architect will be responsible for:

  • Developing innovative and scalable systems and software solutions that meet business and technical challenges.
  • Establishing and upholding architecture and technology standards for applications, middleware, and databases, including both in-house and third-party applications.
  • Providing mentorship and guidance to project teams to ensure adherence to standards and best practices.
  • Assessing and recommending technologies and methodologies suitable for T-Mobile's systems.

Experience with APIs, Microservices, databases, and digital architecture is essential. As the primary steward of these vital components, the Principal Architect holds ultimate accountability and ownership for delivering exceptional solutions.

This role will collaborate closely with leadership, Principal Architects, and development teams to implement the Platform Strategy. We foster an environment that encourages innovation and promotes an agile and open approach, embodying the Un-carrier ethos.

Additional Responsibilities:
The Principal Architect will also:

  • Understand business processes for assigned projects and provide technology-architectural solutions, roadmaps, and architectural catalogs.
  • Translate business requirements into technical specifications and assist team members in executing solutions.
  • Conduct technical evaluations of third-party products for integration into T-Mobile solutions.
  • Define software development processes related to ERP evaluation and integration.
  • Serve as a technical resource for business teams to define, estimate, and recommend optimized solutions for business opportunities.
  • Develop proofs-of-concept and prototypes to illustrate approaches to technology and business challenges.
  • Collaborate with Enterprise Architecture to define the service delivery landscape.
  • Present solutions to clients and project teams, adapting communication style for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Mentor team members on standard processes and identify training opportunities to enhance team capabilities.
  • Stay updated on industry knowledge through educational opportunities, professional publications, and networking.

Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related field. Technology certifications (e.g., Java, Microsoft, Oracle) are advantageous.

Experience: 7-10 years as a software or systems architect specializing in ERP solutions with APIs, Kubernetes, Microservices, event-based frameworks, databases, and digital architecture, with a focus on cybersecurity. 4-7 years in Supply Chain Domain architecture and design, preferably with Oracle Supply Chain Suite experience.

Experience with third-party system integrations, web experience management technologies, and mobile web application architecture is also required.

Compensation:
Base Pay Range: $123,800 - $223,300. Corporate Bonus Target: 20%. The actual pay will depend on various factors, including work location, qualifications, and experience.
