Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Nursing Care Specialist to join our team at SSM Health. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality care to our residents, ensuring their physical, emotional, and spiritual needs are met.

Responsibilities
  • Provide skilled nursing care to residents according to established care plans and federal/state regulations.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, maintaining competency in all required nursing skills.
  • Direct and supervise ancillary staff, ensuring coordination of care and effective communication.
  • Participate in report meetings, communicating with residents, guardians, and family members on current conditions and needs.
  • Provide teaching and training to residents and families as needed, promoting health education and empowerment.
  • Ensure preventative measures are in place, such as skin checks, turning/repositioning schedules, and toileting schedules.
  • Respond promptly to alarms, ensuring resident safety and well-being.
  • Provide quality end-of-life care, using comfort baskets to meet resident and family needs.
  • Work collaboratively with the healthcare team to ensure comprehensive care and effective communication.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing or equivalent education for licensing.
  • Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (BLS HCP) certification within 90 days of hire.
  • Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of work location or compact multi-state license.
