Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Nursing Care Specialist to join our team at SSM Health. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality nursing care to our residents, ensuring their physical, emotional, and spiritual needs are met.

Responsibilities
  • Provide quality care to acute, subacute, and chronically ill residents, administering medications and treatments according to established standards of care.
  • Monitor and maintain accurate inventory of medications, ensuring accurate distribution to residents and adherence to manufacturer's guidelines.
  • Provide guidance and direction to auxiliary staff, ensuring coordination of care and adherence to nursing process.
  • Participate in report meetings, communicating with residents, guardians, and family members on current conditions and needs.
  • Ensure preventative measures are in place, including specialty mattresses, foam boots, and regular skin checks.
  • Respond promptly to alarms and ensure restraint alternatives are in place, including personal alarms and wheelchair belts.
  • Provide quality end-of-life care, using comfort baskets to meet resident and family needs.
  • Work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner, performing point-of-care testing as needed.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • No experience required.
Physical Requirements
  • Constant use of speech to share information through oral communication.
  • Constant standing and walking.
  • Frequent lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 0-25 lbs.
  • Frequent sitting, reaching, and keyboard use/data entry.
  • Frequent use of vision and depth perception for distances near and far.
  • Frequent use of smell to detect/recognize odors.
  • Frequent use of hearing to receive oral communication.
