We are currently in search of a Calibration Lab Manager to oversee our calibration operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership of Calibration Personnel:

  • Establishing objectives and a vision for the future development of the calibration laboratory.
  • Conducting annual evaluations of staff performance.
  • Managing staff schedules and leave requests.

Oversight of Calibration Laboratory Operations:

  • Managing financial performance, including revenue and expenses.
  • Coordinating production schedules and overseeing workflow.
  • Drafting ISO/IEC 17025 calibration procedures.
  • Developing and maintaining measurement uncertainty budgets in accordance with ISO/IEC 17025.
  • Administering annual proficiency testing as mandated by ISO/IEC 17025.
  • Addressing continuous improvement initiatives related to the Calibration Lab in a timely manner.
  • Ensuring the Calibration Lab is consistently prepared for internal and external audits.
  • Participating in annual internal audits and serving as the Calibration Lab representative during external audits.
  • Conducting onsite evaluations of ongoing field calibration projects.
  • Contributing to annual management reviews for the branch.
  • Reviewing quality control of calibration reports generated from the laboratory management system.

Sales and Marketing Duties:

  • Utilizing strong interpersonal and presentation skills to foster relationships with existing and prospective clients.
  • Conducting field visits for job quotations.
  • Engaging with potential new clients.
  • Identifying opportunities for new customer acquisition.
  • Participating in industry-related professional organizations.

Education and Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Relevant certifications or coursework in metrology, sciences, or mathematics.
  • Familiarity with ISO/IEC 17025 standards.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities.
  • Proficiency in mathematics and scientific principles.
  • Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Innovative thinking to create calibration solutions for specialized devices.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to pass a drug screening.
  • Willingness to undergo a background check.

Preferred Skills:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Strong customer service orientation.
  • Team-oriented mindset.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Self-driven and motivated.

Work Environment and Hours:

  • This is a full-time role situated in an office and laboratory setting; standard working hours are Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
  • Job duties may require sitting, talking, hearing, and using hands for various tasks. Occasional physical activities may include balancing, stooping, kneeling, and lifting objects up to 20 pounds. Vision requirements include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
