We are currently in search of a Calibration Lab Manager to oversee our calibration operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership of Calibration Staff:

  • Establishing objectives and a vision for the future capabilities of the calibration lab.
  • Conducting annual performance evaluations.
  • Managing staff schedules and leave requests.

Oversight of Calibration Laboratory and Processes:

  • Managing financial performance including revenue and expenses.
  • Coordinating production schedules and workflow.
  • Developing ISO/IEC 17025 calibration work instructions.
  • Creating and maintaining measurement uncertainty budgets as per ISO/IEC 17025.
  • Administering annual proficiency testing in compliance with ISO/IEC 17025.
  • Addressing continuous improvement opportunities related to the Calibration Lab promptly.
  • Ensuring the Calibration Lab is always prepared for internal and external audits.
  • Participating in annual internal audits and serving as the Calibration Lab representative during external audits.
  • Conducting onsite audits of field calibration projects.
  • Contributing to annual management reviews for the branch.
  • Reviewing quality control of calibration reports generated from the laboratory management system.

Sales and Marketing Duties:

  • Utilizing strong interpersonal and presentation skills to foster relationships with existing and prospective customers.
  • Conducting field visits for job quotations.
  • Engaging with potential new clients.
  • Researching new customer acquisition opportunities.
  • Participating in industry professional organizations.

Education and Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma.
  • Relevant certifications or coursework in metrology, sciences, or mathematics.
  • Familiarity with ISO/IEC 17025 standards.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities.
  • Proficiency in mathematics and science.
  • Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Innovative thinking to develop calibration solutions for specialized devices.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean record.
  • Ability to pass a drug test.
  • Willingness to undergo a background check.

Preferred Skills:

  • Exceptional skills in Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Strong customer service orientation.
  • Team-oriented mindset.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Self-driven and motivated.

Position Type and Work Hours:

  • This is a full-time role in an office and laboratory setting; standard work hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
  • Job duties may require sitting, talking, hearing, and using hands for various tasks. Occasionally, the role may involve balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, walking, and lifting objects up to 20 pounds. Adequate hand-eye coordination is necessary for operating computers and office equipment, with specific vision requirements including close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
