Key Responsibilities:

Leadership of Calibration Personnel:

  • Establishing objectives and a vision for the advancement of the calibration laboratory.
  • Conducting annual evaluations of staff performance.
  • Managing staff schedules and leave requests.

Oversight of Calibration Laboratory Operations:

  • Monitoring financial performance and operational costs.
  • Coordinating production schedules and workflow.
  • Developing ISO/IEC 17025 calibration protocols.
  • Creating and maintaining measurement uncertainty budgets as per ISO/IEC 17025 standards.
  • Administering annual proficiency testing in compliance with ISO/IEC 17025.
  • Addressing continuous improvement initiatives related to the calibration lab.
  • Ensuring the lab is always prepared for internal and external audits.
  • Participating in annual internal audits and serving as the calibration lab representative during external assessments.
  • Conducting onsite evaluations of field calibration projects.
  • Engaging in annual management reviews for the branch.
  • Reviewing quality control of calibration reports generated from the laboratory management system.

Sales and Marketing Duties:

  • Exhibiting strong interpersonal and presentation skills to foster relationships with existing and potential clients.
  • Conducting field visits for job quotations.
  • Engaging with prospective clients.
  • Identifying potential new customer segments.
  • Participating in industry-related professional organizations.

Education and Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Relevant certifications or coursework in metrology, sciences, or mathematics.
  • Familiarity with ISO/IEC 17025 standards.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities.
  • Proficient in mathematics and science.
  • Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Innovative thinking to develop calibration solutions for specialized devices.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean record.
  • Ability to pass a drug screening.
  • Willingness to undergo a background check.

Preferred Skills:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.

Work Environment:

  • This is a full-time role within an office and laboratory setting, typically working Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
  • Job duties may require sitting, talking, hearing, and using hands for various tasks. Occasional lifting of objects up to 20 pounds may be necessary.
