We are currently in search of a Calibration Lab Manager to oversee our calibration operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Team Management:

  • Establishing strategic goals for the calibration lab's future capabilities.
  • Conducting annual performance evaluations for calibration staff.
  • Managing staff schedules and overseeing paid time off.

Calibration Laboratory Oversight:

  • Monitoring financial performance, including revenue and expenses.
  • Coordinating production schedules and managing workflow.
  • Developing ISO/IEC 17025 calibration work instructions.
  • Creating and maintaining measurement uncertainty budgets as per ISO/IEC 17025 standards.
  • Overseeing annual proficiency testing in compliance with ISO/IEC 17025.
  • Addressing continuous improvement opportunities related to calibration processes.
  • Ensuring the lab is always prepared for internal and external audits.
  • Participating in annual internal audits and serving as the calibration lab liaison during external assessments.
  • Conducting onsite audits of field calibration activities.
  • Engaging in annual management reviews for the branch.
  • Reviewing quality control of calibration reports generated from the laboratory management system.

Sales and Marketing Duties:

  • Utilizing strong interpersonal and presentation skills to foster relationships with clients.
  • Conducting field visits for job quotations.
  • Engaging with potential new clients.
  • Identifying opportunities for new customer acquisition.
  • Participating in industry professional organizations.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Relevant certifications or coursework in metrology, sciences, or mathematics.
  • Familiarity with ISO/IEC 17025 standards.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities.
  • Proficiency in mathematics and science.
  • Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Innovative thinking to develop calibration solutions for specialized devices.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean record.
  • Ability to pass a drug test and background check.

Preferred Skills:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Strong customer service orientation.
  • Team-oriented mindset.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Self-driven and motivated.

Work Environment:

  • This is a full-time position in an office and laboratory setting with standard work hours.
  • Physical requirements include sitting, talking, hearing, and using hands for various tasks, with occasional lifting of up to 20 pounds.
