Position Overview

The Land Surveying Team Leader will operate both autonomously and collaboratively with team members to execute field survey activities related to boundary delineations, ALTA/NSPS Land Title surveys, topographic assessments, photo control surveys, route evaluations, and construction layout under the supervision of a Registered Professional Surveyor.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the effective functioning of the field crew adhering to established operational protocols and contemporary health and safety regulations.
  • Utilize robotic total stations and GPS technology to gather precise data and information efficiently.
  • Mark boundaries, document detailed observations and sketches, and maintain the company’s surveying equipment and vehicles.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:
  • Proficient in operating GPS instruments, data collection devices, and Total Stations.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment and initiative in various situations.
  • Understanding of the principles, methods, and practices involved in land surveying.
  • Familiarity with computer-aided drafting principles, civil engineering practices, and construction specifications.
  • Awareness of industry-specific safety protocols and practices.
  • Capability to operate motorized equipment effectively.
  • Willingness to work outdoors in diverse environmental conditions.
  • Physical ability to stand, walk, reach, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and utilize tools and controls proficiently.
  • Capacity to lift and/or move weights ranging from 50 to 75 pounds.
  • Ability to manage office tasks efficiently, organize work, set priorities, and maintain positive relationships with colleagues and clients.
  • May involve local travel within a specified radius.
  • A valid driver’s license is mandatory.

Education and Experience Requirements:
  • High school diploma is preferred.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience as a survey crew chief is preferred.

Compensation:

Salary and hourly wages are commensurate with experience.
