Job Overview

The Land Surveying Team Leader will operate both autonomously and collaboratively with team members to execute field survey tasks related to boundary delineations, ALTA/NSPS Land Title surveys, topographical assessments, photo control surveys, route surveys, and construction layout under the supervision of a Registered Professional Surveyor.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the effective functioning of the field crew adhering to established operating procedures and current health and safety regulations.
  • Utilize robotic total stations and GPS technology to accurately gather essential data and information efficiently.
  • Mark boundaries, maintain detailed records and diagrams, and ensure the upkeep of company equipment and survey vehicles.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:
  • Proficient in operating GPS devices, data collection tools, and Total Stations.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment and initiative in various situations.
  • Understanding of the principles, methods, and practices associated with land surveying.
  • Familiarity with computer-aided drafting techniques and civil engineering principles, as well as construction specifications, plans, and regulations.
  • Awareness of industry-specific safety protocols and practices.
  • Capability to operate motorized equipment safely.
  • Willingness to work outdoors in diverse field conditions.
  • Physical ability to stand, walk, reach, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and effectively use hands, tools, and controls.
  • Capacity to lift and/or move weights ranging from 50 to 75 pounds.
  • Ability to manage office tasks efficiently, organize work, set priorities, and maintain positive interpersonal relationships with colleagues and clients.
  • Local travel may be required within a specified radius.
  • A valid driver's license is mandatory.

Education and Experience Requirements:
  • A high school diploma is preferred.
  • At least 2 years of experience as a survey crew chief is preferred.

Compensation:

Salary and hourly wages will be determined based on experience.
