Job Summary

The City of New York is seeking a highly skilled Recruitment Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Human Resources department, you will be responsible for coordinating all facets of recruitment efforts, from posting job openings to selecting candidates. Your primary goal will be to secure the most qualified candidates available for our organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate recruitment efforts, including posting job openings and selecting candidates.
  • Liaise with academic institutions to schedule interviews and develop effective recruitment methods.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for candidate-specific issues.
  • Develop and organize materials for interviews using the Applicant Tracking System.
  • Attend job fairs to recruit candidates.
  • Train BXDA interviewers on best interview practices.
  • Assist in the coordination of the Summer Intern Program and other similar programs.
  • Input data into the BXDA Applicant Tracking System and schedule interviews.
  • Prepare offer letters and assist in the preparation of professional hiring statistics.

Requirements
  • A master's degree in economics, finance, accounting, business, or public administration, or a related field.
  • Two years of satisfactory full-time professional experience in budget administration, accounting, economic or financial administration, or fiscal or economic research, or in management or methods analysis, operations research, organizational research, or program evaluation, or in personnel or public administration, recruitment, position classification, personnel relations, labor relations, employee benefits, staff development, employment program planning/administration, labor market research, economic planning, social services program planning/evaluation, or fiscal management, or in a related area.

Preferred Skills
  • A Bachelor's degree and a minimum of three years of recruitment experience, preferably within a municipal setting or inside a civic or community organization.
  • Extensive knowledge of citywide electronic database systems, such as PRISE, NYCAPS, PMS, and CHRMS.
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in the use of Adobe Pro, Microsoft Office, and Outlook.
  • Strong and demonstrable skills in relationship-building and candidate sourcing.
  • Strong and demonstrable skills in database management and record-keeping.

Salary
$75,000-82,000
