Assistant Professor of Radiochemistry

The Department of Radiology and Biomedical Imaging at the University of California, San Francisco is seeking qualified candidates for the role of Assistant Professor of Radiochemistry. The successful applicant will be appointed at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level in either the In-Residence or Adjunct series, based on their qualifications and interests.
The new faculty member is expected to establish an independent research agenda focused on radiopharmaceutical chemistry. Candidates with proven experience in the radiosynthesis of innovative radiopharmaceutical agents are highly desirable. Collaboration with faculty across the Department of Radiology and Biomedical Imaging and other departments at UCSF will be essential to further the development of novel molecular imaging agents, spanning from initial tracer development to first-in-human clinical trials.
While expertise in new synthetic and radiosynthetic methodologies, GMP production, automation, and small molecule chemistry is preferred, candidates with flexible areas of focus related to diseases such as neurology, oncology, cardiology, or other clinical applications are encouraged to apply. Responsibilities will also include close collaboration with basic scientists and clinical researchers in the planning, execution, and analysis of research data. Faculty members are expected to educate residents, fellows, medical students, and master's students.
Applicants must possess a PhD, MD/PhD, or an equivalent degree in Chemistry, Radiochemistry, Bioengineering, or a related field, along with postgraduate or postdoctoral training and research experience following their PhD, ideally with a minimum of two years combined experience. All qualifications should be detailed in the application materials submitted. All requirements must be fulfilled by the start date of the faculty appointment.
