Application Process

Position Overview: The Department of Cellular & Molecular Pharmacology (CMP) at the University of California San Francisco (UCSF) is seeking applications for a tenure-track faculty role. We invite applications from candidates for the Assistant Professor position, while also considering exceptional individuals at the Associate or Full Professor levels. We are particularly interested in researchers who employ both computational and experimental methodologies to address fundamental biological questions.

Research Focus: Our aim is to recruit innovative scientists who utilize contemporary techniques and strategies to investigate essential mechanistic inquiries at the molecular, cellular, tissue, and organismal scales. We are also looking for researchers who creatively leverage these mechanistic insights to propel advancements in biomedical science. Candidates should possess an advanced degree (PhD or equivalent).

Departmental Environment: CMP boasts world-class laboratories specializing in molecular biology, cell biology, neurobiology, chemical biology, systems and synthetic biology, and molecular/cellular engineering. The UCSF Mission Bay campus fosters a dynamic environment for collaboration among basic science and clinical departments, equipped with state-of-the-art research facilities.

Expectations: Successful candidates will be expected to establish a pioneering research program and engage in graduate and postdoctoral education.

Compensation: The UC salary scales determine the minimum pay based on rank and step at appointment. The minimum base salary range for this position is $118,000-$309,800, and it includes membership in the health sciences compensation plan, which allows for eligibility for additional compensation.
