We are thrilled to present an opportunity for a driven professional to take on the role of Senior Financial Analyst.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:


The Senior Financial Analyst is pivotal in establishing a robust and profitable financial structure that aligns with our organization's strategic objectives.

This role, focusing on the engineering services domain, is crucial in enhancing financial planning, analysis, and new proposal initiatives.

You will be responsible for forecasting revenues and expenditures, developing accurate cost frameworks, and determining revenue recognition protocols for various projects.

In close partnership with the Program Director of Finance and other senior executives, you will influence significant financial strategies and policies, playing an essential role in maintaining the fiscal health and success of our programs and the company as a whole.

Key tasks include:
- Developing and refining financial models to improve program performance.
- Supporting the forecasting process and contributing to the Annual Operating Plan (AOP).
- Conducting contract evaluations to ensure compliance with GAAP standards for revenue recognition.
- Producing detailed financial reports on the status of current programs.
- Assisting in the development of pricing proposals.
- Assessing potential contracting opportunities, including risk and opportunity evaluations.
- Enhancing efficiency through the creation of automated accounting solutions and coordinating necessary information.
- Collaborating with senior management on long-term financial strategies.
- Analyzing discrepancies between projected and actual financial outcomes to identify areas for improvement.
- Engaging in comprehensive budgeting activities for departments and projects.
- Ensuring accuracy in cost accounting transactions.
- Developing financial practices and policies in partnership with team members.
- Delivering ad hoc financial analyses and undertaking special projects as required.
- Managing subcontractor expenditure tracking and ensuring accuracy in program billing/accounts payable.

Conducting weekly financial reviews with program management to monitor and discuss financial metrics, variances from the Annual Operating Plan, and supporting the preparation of executive presentations for Program Management Reviews.

Mentoring other Financial Analysts as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS:
A Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, accounting, or a related discipline.

At least 5 years of relevant experience in financial analysis, strategic planning, pricing, forecasting, and accounting of revenues, expenses, capital, and staffing.

Prior experience in government contracting is highly regarded.
CMA or CPA certifications are advantageous.

SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES:
Proven experience in a senior financial analysis capacity.
Proficiency in financial and accounting software.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage with diverse audiences, including senior business leaders.

Advanced expertise in MS Excel, including complex spreadsheet functionalities and formula application.
Able to thrive in a collaborative and agile work environment.
Strong analytical mindset with a keen interest in exploring data ('Why?', 'What if?', 'How?').
Familiarity with DFARs, CAS, and GAAP standards.
Experience with Deltek Costpoint/Time and Expense is a plus.
