Job Summary

The Chief Development Officer is a key member of the executive team at Hammer & NER, responsible for leading the organization's fundraising efforts and developing strategic partnerships to advance the organization's mission and goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive fundraising strategy to achieve annual and long-term goals.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including donors, community leaders, and peer organizations.
  • Lead and manage the development team, providing guidance and mentorship to ensure the team's success.
  • Develop and implement a marketing strategy to support fundraising efforts, including creating collateral materials and social media content.
  • Work closely with the CEO and Board of Directors to develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders and donors.
Requirements
  • Advanced and demonstrated executive-level fundraising experience, preferably in a mid-sized organization.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Products and donor database software.
  • A demonstrated passion for the organization's mission and fundraising, with a deep understanding of and commitment to the values and principles of the nonprofit sector.
  • Proven experience leading grant writing programs and securing funding from a variety of sources.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with prior experience in public speaking and external relations.
  • Prior experience creating strategic multiyear fundraising plans and building consensus among stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated success in staff management and mentorship, with a commitment to creating a positive and inclusive work culture.
