Job Summary:

The Senior Director, Business Insights will be responsible for leading market and customer insights, pipeline assessments, forecasting, and analytics initiatives. This role will work closely with cross-functional teams, including Marketing, Portfolio Strategy, Managed Care and Access, Field teams, Commercial Operations, Finance, and Medical Affairs. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of developing and executing successful insights and analytics projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and execute market research and forecasting strategies to identify and capitalize on market opportunities.
  2. Lead the identification of information needs for critical business decisions and define primary market research and data analytics priorities.
  3. Drive the generation of integrated insights and deliver a clear and compelling storyline for in-line and pipeline opportunities, supporting strategic decision-making.
  4. Enable connections across analytical and research efforts to tell a cohesive story on brand performance and allow strategic recommendations.
  5. Develop long-range and short-term planning processes for the organization, including forecasting, S&OP, scenario planning, investment, and uncertainty analyses.
  6. Collaborate with Commercial Data Analytics, Commercial Operations, and field partners for deeper insights into market dynamics and customer behaviors.
  7. Determine future data needs and drive data acquisition to ensure timely acquisition and synergies with other relevant groups.
  8. Manage and analyze the competitive environment, sales records, market penetration, market potential, and future trends, making recommendations based on findings.
  9. Stay up-to-date on key market events and work to understand potential impact.
  10. Work with diverse counterparts to compile and analyze data on past sales and trends to interpret market trends and, as appropriate, recommend corrective courses of action.
  11. Track and report on budget performance, providing insights and recommendations for optimization.

Requirements:

  1. Bachelor's degree required; Science, Engineering, Mathematics/Statistics, Business, Healthcare, or Healthcare Informatics concentration preferred; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  2. Demonstrated track record of leading and influencing cross-functional teams and senior leaders.
  3. Minimum of 10 years of experience in biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, or pharma/healthcare consulting with a focus in one or more areas of market research, forecasting, analytics, decision analytics, or commercial strategy, or at least 8 years' experience (with an advanced degree).
  4. Prior experience in pipeline forecasting, launch planning, and business development forecasting preferred.
  5. Prior experience in orthopedic markets, anesthesia, or closely related specialty preferred.

Qualifications:

  1. Proven track record of developing and executing successful insights and analytics projects across a diverse product portfolio, wide range of internal stakeholders, and various commercial areas.
  2. Demonstrated strong customer insights and analytical skills.
  3. Leading strategic forecasting and commercial assessment activities for in-line and pipeline products and communication of assessments and recommendations to the senior leadership team.
  4. Strong project and process management skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects, set priorities, and meet deadlines.
  5. Extensive healthcare industry knowledge, including managed care, patient, provider, pharma company, pharma/biotech technology, and disease area trends.
  6. Strong critical thinking and structured, problem-solving skills.
  7. Demonstrate ability to work effectively in complex, rapidly changing environments.
  8. Excellent oral and written English communications skills.
  9. Solid financial and business acumen; analytical mindset; demonstrated strong analytical skills.
  10. Ability to travel up to 33%.
