Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Executive Director of Escrow Tax Operations to join our team at Dovenmuehle. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for overseeing the tax section of our department and ensuring compliance with all state laws and regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Management: Provide leadership to and have responsibility for the management of the tax section of the department. Oversee and mentor staff to work effectively and follow mortgage servicing compliance and regulations.
  • Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure that all documents and escrow insurance are requested, prepared, and processed in compliance with all state laws and regulations.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Develop and implement effective communication and collaboration strategies with internal company departments, external insurance agents and companies, PMI companies, vendors, clients, and mortgagors.
  • Operational Excellence: Work with senior management to plan, develop, organize, implement, direct, and evaluate goals, budget, and activities of assigned department.
  • Performance Management: Maintain departmental staffing and productivity standards within allocated budgets and resources.
  • Reporting and Analysis: Review operating results and evaluate against goals and department standards; monitor and report trends and re-align staff to meet objectives and changing business needs.
  • Recruitment and Selection: Participate in interview and selection processes with supervisory and higher job positions.
  • Employee Development: Make recommendations in hiring, firing, advancement, promotion, or any other change of status of department staff within the guidelines of budget and communicated procedures for such change of status events.
  • Quality Assurance: Approve timely and accurate responses to all internal and external audits, compliance reviews, requests for information, etc., ensuring information is provided in accordance with organizational policy and standards as well as regulatory requirements.
  • Policy Development: Implement policies and procedures that result in high-quality service to clients and a positive work environment for staff to promote the retention of both.
  • Support and Backup: Back-up when VP is out of the office.
  • Employee Performance Management: Monitor employee performance and reviews.
Requirements
  • Experience: 6+ years' experience in mortgage servicing, title services, financial services, or similar.
  • Management Experience: 5+ years of management and operations experience.
  • Knowledge and Skills: Strong knowledge of mortgage tax and insurance: compliance and regulations. Solid PC skills: Proficient with Microsoft applications. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Leadership and Communication: Ability to handle complex, multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment. Ability to coordinate multiple and changing priorities. Effective verbal and written communication skills, with always demonstrated ability to interact in a positive and professional manner with all levels of both internal and external audiences.
  • Confidentiality: The ability to handle confidential or sensitive information with discretion.
  • Leadership and Motivation: Ability to motivate others and serve as a role model for organizational and departmental initiatives, procedures, and values.
  • Technical Skills: Strong communication and technical skills. Heavy mortgage insurance experience. Knowledge of mortgage servicing software and platforms.
