Ophthalmology Specialist

Unit Mission:
Our team of academic professionals in the dynamic field of ophthalmology is dedicated to enhancing the vision and ocular health of individuals through exceptional patient care, education, and research initiatives.
Primary Objective of the Role:
The Department of Ophthalmology at the State of Virginia is integral to a comprehensive health system that provides both primary and specialized care.
We are in search of qualified candidates who will engage in direct patient care and oversight in various outpatient ophthalmology environments.
Key Responsibilities:
The selected candidate is expected to uphold high clinical and ethical standards throughout their decision-making processes, comply with regulatory measures, and cultivate a collaborative atmosphere through effective communication among all staff members. Additionally, fostering a high level of satisfaction among patients and staff is essential.
The individual in this role will undertake a diverse array of responsibilities, which include performing clinical duties and providing education to medical students, interns, and residents.
Essential Qualifications:
- Completion of an Optometry Residency, with specialized training in Contact Lens Fitting and Ocular Disease.
- Possession of a current, full, and unrestricted license to practice optometry in the State of Virginia.
- Demonstrated excellent clinical skills and a commitment to fostering a diverse environment among faculty, staff, and students.
It is important to note that employment within any of the health system's facilities requires adherence to established policies, which may include vaccination requirements.
