Lead Sleep Technologist Job Description

Oregon Sleep Associates is a premier sleep center seeking an experienced and skilled individual to fill the role of Lead Sleep Technologist. This full-time position focuses on daytime operations, with occasional overnight shifts as needed.

About the Role:

  • The Lead Sleep Technologist will oversee and optimize all sleep lab operations, supporting our practice in providing top-notch patient care.
  • This role involves a hybrid set of responsibilities centered on managing processes, collaborating with vendors, and building referral source relationships.
  • The successful candidate will have strong leadership skills, excellent communication abilities, and proficiency in polysomnography scoring.

Responsibilities:

Patient Education & Equipment Management
  • Educate patients on positive airway pressure device use and care.
  • Dispense equipment at the office or arrange shipping.
  • Follow up with patients to ensure adherence to PAP therapy.
Administrative & Support Tasks
  • Document interactions following Medicare compliance standards.
  • Manage inventory, including ordering and cleaning processes.
  • Collaborate with vendors and build referral source relationships.
  • Provide support to the team.
Leadership in Technical Operations
  • Supervise night techs and address operational concerns.
  • Conduct technical meetings and manage technician staffing.
  • Oversee PSG acquisition and scoring processes, including MSLT execution.
  • Maintain PSG supply inventory and troubleshoot technical issues.
Accreditation & Quality Management
  • Develop quarterly QA reports and manage staff training initiatives.
  • Maintain records for technical staff credentials and equipment checks.
  • Update policies and procedures as needed to comply with AASM accreditation.
HST Program & DME Overflow Support
  • Program and dispense HST devices as scheduled.
  • Assist with PAP troubleshooting and scheduling of DME appointments.
  • Perform PAP downloads and communicate with external vendors for report retrieval.

Qualifications:

  • At least 5 years of experience in sleep medicine preferred.
  • Current RPSGT and OHLA license in polysomnography required.
  • BCLS certification.
  • Proficient computer skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong capability to score sleep studies and provide patient care in clinic and lab environments.

Compensation & Benefits:

This full-time position offers a competitive salary range of $35.00-$39.00 per hour, paid time off, and comprehensive benefits including health, dental, vision, life insurance, and 401(k).
