Job Summary

The Kostelic Agency is seeking a highly skilled Controller to join their team. This is a pivotal role in shaping the accounting organization and collaborating with senior leadership.

This position requires a blend of leadership, technical skill, and a hands-on approach to managing accounting functions. You'll be at the forefront of automating financial reporting, ensuring GAAP compliance, and leading the year-end audit process.

This role reports to the VP of Accounting, who boasts an impressive background in public accounting, including a tenure as a Senior Manager at a Big 4 firm. Additionally, the role will be supported by the CFO, who has a remarkable background in Investment Banking and Private Equity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage all accounting activities, including AP/AR, inventory, payroll, and month-end processes.
  • Automate and ensure 99.5% accuracy in financial reporting in line with GAAP, and make it audit-ready.
  • Manage cash effectively with robust internal controls.
  • Oversee robust monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes, including reconciliations and general ledger analyses.
  • Lead integration of acquisitions into accounting systems.
  • Implement and monitor internal controls, coordinate with external auditors, and assist in budget planning.
  • Drive strategic initiatives and process improvements, prepare analytical presentations, and lead various ad-hoc projects.

Qualifications:

  • 6+ years of accounting experience, public accounting foundation preferred.
  • Bachelor's in accounting, masters degree a plus. Active CPA license preferred.
  • Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP accounting.
