Job Summary

The Association Controller is a key member of our client teams, bringing exceptional skills as a NetSuite user with adept time management and prioritization abilities.

This role oversees full-charge accounting, directing general accounting, financial planning, and reporting for multiple non-profit associations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare timely monthly financial reports for multiple non-profit associations, including thorough analysis and interpretation.
  • Provide variance analysis of actual figures versus budget, forecast, and previous year.
  • Oversee client accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems, ensuring compliance with GAAP standards, regulatory requirements, and best practices.
  • Maintain internal controls for revenue, costs, and program budgets to prevent inaccuracies in financial statements.
  • Collaborate with Account Executives to ensure timely communication of clients' financial status by providing financial statements and leading recurring calls to discuss prior period results.
  • Understand the business of association clients for accurate and in-depth financial analysis and guidance.
  • Work with external auditor/CPA firm for reviews, audits, and tax returns.
  • Assist in clients' budgeting processes and recommend corrective actions to meet financial objectives.
  • Facilitate the establishment and maintenance of clients' financial policies, procedures, and controls.
  • Recommend continuous improvements to clients' financial processes, collaborating with client teams to prioritize programs and services for optimized revenue generation.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting preferred.
  • Minimum of 7 years progressive accounting experience, including month-end close processes.
  • Experience in multi-company financial management highly desired.
  • Strong NetSuite general ledger and financial reporting experience preferred.
  • Proficient in Excel and Word.
  • Association management or non-profit experience is beneficial.
  • Prior management of direct reports preferred.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to assess situations/issues rapidly and determine objectives and next steps for resolution.
  • Proven ability to pursue and achieve aggressive goals.
  • Capability to analyze numbers to drive change and elevate organizational performance.
Work Environment

This position operates within an office environment.
