Position Overview


An Audiovisual Event Specialist is tasked with the setup and management of basic to small-scale audiovisual systems within a hospitality setting, ensuring complete satisfaction for all clients.

This role reports to an Operations Manager, Operations Director, or Director of Event Technology.

Key Responsibilities

Equipment Management


Guarantees a seamless event by accurately and promptly setting up, operating, and dismantling basic audiovisual equipment as detailed in the technical qualifications.

Client Engagement

Aims to surpass the expectations and requirements of both internal and external clients.

Maintains a constructive relationship with all clients through effective communication.

Meets with clients on-site to ensure their needs are addressed and that the equipment setup is functioning correctly.

Monitors events and checks in with clients throughout the day.

Understands and nurtures the hotel/client relationship.

Technical Proficiency


Grasps the technical components of the role and exhibits basic operational skills to troubleshoot and resolve equipment and software issues.

Addresses equipment challenges and modifications promptly and professionally.

Systems Knowledge

Comprehends company protocols, adheres to procedures, and accurately completes system entries and documentation.

Utilizes equipment sheets to ascertain the equipment scheduled for setup and breakdown. Collaborates with other staff and external vendors for equipment needs.

Enhances revenue through effective floor up-selling techniques.

Works with clients to finalize billing.

Completes order entries in the designated system as required.

Qualifications

High School Diploma is mandatory; an Associate's degree is preferred.

Must achieve Technical Level 3 Certification within 180 days as per the Encore Technical Skillset Matrix.

Preferred experience includes 1 year in customer service or hospitality and 1 year in audiovisual roles or equivalent educational experience.

A valid driver's license is necessary for team members who may operate company vehicles.

Additional DOT requirements may apply if relevant.

This role is performed in a hotel or convention center environment, with moderate exposure to outdoor conditions and elements such as dirt, sand, and dust.

Working conditions may range from moderately quiet to noisy environments.

Team members will utilize high-end audiovisual equipment and electrical components, and may be exposed to heights via lifts and ladders.

Team members may be required to work across multiple hotel locations. Work hours may include irregular schedules and on-call status, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Team members must comply with appearance standards as established by Encore based on individual hotel guidelines or a representation of hotels in the area.
