Position Overview

The Sales Account Representative engages with both established and potential customers through telephone interactions, employing a consultative selling strategy to recommend MSC's products, services, and solutions.

Key Responsibilities

1. Utilize a consultative selling approach to recommend MSC products, services, and solutions to customers via phone.

2. Drive sales growth by nurturing existing accounts and penetrating newly assigned customer bases.

3. Identify customer-specific operational and technical needs to make tailored product recommendations.

4. Foster strong customer relationships, responding to inquiries in alignment with MSC's standards and business practices.

5. Collaborate with team members to achieve individual, team, and corporate sales objectives.

6. Maintain accurate sales records and generate market/sales reports for management as required.

7. Monitor expenditures to ensure adherence to budgetary guidelines and take corrective actions when necessary.

8. Develop a personal business plan under close supervision to meet annual sales goals.

9. Demonstrate fundamental sales techniques and a proven track record of achieving sales targets.

10. Embrace and promote the MSC Culture throughout the organization to ensure a unified purpose and mission fulfillment.

11. Participate in special projects and undertake additional responsibilities as needed.

Qualifications

- A High School Diploma or equivalent is mandatory.

- A minimum of 2 years of sales experience is essential.

- Experience with metalworking or MRO products and processes is preferred.

Skills Required

- Basic computer literacy is essential.

- Strong oral and written communication skills are required.

- Excellent customer service abilities are necessary.

Additional Requirements

- Travel may be necessary for this position.

- Access to International Traffic in Arms Regulations Information (ITAR) and/or Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) may be required.

Compensation

Starting compensation ranges from $53,000 to $83,600, depending on experience.

The salary range is based on comparable roles within the industry and local labor costs. Actual compensation will reflect the candidate's relevant experience, educational background, and peer pay equity. The company reserves the right to adjust the range based on market conditions.
