Educational Program Coordinator, Family Shelters

CAMBA is seeking an Educational Program Coordinator to join our team. The successful candidate will assist families and students in accessing the support and resources they need to maintain appropriate levels in their education while ensuring attendance success.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist families and students in accessing support and resources to maintain education levels and attendance success
- Identify children in need of intensive support services and coordinate case conferences with families and the Department of Education
- Develop resources and tools to help students access support and maintain education levels
- Lead workshops and activities to provide families with a schedule and structure to increase attendance
- Track attendance and identify barriers to attendance success through parent/caregiver engagement
- Collaborate with social service teams and DOE Liaison to determine eligibility for special education services
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree (B.A.) and at least 3 years of applicable experience
- Bi-lingual English/Spanish
- Ability to travel to all Family Shelter sites across various boroughs of New York City
- Must obtain State Central Registry (SCR) clearance, The Register of Substantiated Category One Cases of Abuse or Neglect aka Staff Exclusion List (SEL) clearance and Criminal history information checks via fingerprinting with New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services prior to start of employment
