POSITION SUMMARY: The selected candidate will be responsible for providing primary support for Network Firewalls and DDoS security appliances currently in operation. This role will involve assessing existing security devices, developing new security guidelines and policies, and enforcing best practices to maintain a secure network environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Configure, maintain, and support core security infrastructure, including Firewalls, Routers, Switches, and other security devices.
  • Administer Arbor DDoS mitigation platform and Splunk SIEM platforms.
  • Utilize knowledge of IP and secure networking principles to support the production network.
  • Manage equipment inventory and configuration, while developing and maintaining documentation for network initiatives.
  • Possess a fundamental understanding of deployed IP network products and a willingness to learn new technologies, including OSPF, BGP routing, MPLS, and Cisco CLI.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in PC skills and familiarity with MS Office applications, including Visio, Word, and Excel.
  • Exhibit strong organizational skills and attention to detail, managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Work independently and collaboratively with the Network Operations team.
  • Maintain a flexible schedule to ensure network services are operational and provide after-hours support as needed.
  • Communicate complex issues effectively, both verbally and in writing, to management, other departments, and network vendors.
  • Propose technical and procedural recommendations to enhance overall Network Security objectives and departmental efficiency.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 5+ years of experience in Operational and/or Engineering roles within the technical industry.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent technical education.
  • Industry and vendor-specific certifications are desirable, including CCNA and CISSP; Security Certifications experience is a plus.
