Responsibilities

  • Perform registration in computerized systems, utilizing advanced computer skills to ensure efficient and accurate data entry.
  • Conduct pre-registration, enter date-of-service upon patient arrival, and update patient information in the electronic medical record (EMR).
  • Collect and verify demographic and insurance information at each patient encounter, ensuring accurate data entry in all systems.
  • Collect co-payments and manage patient accounts.
  • Send missed appointment notifications to patients and secure referrals to primary care physicians or specialists as needed.
  • Schedule patient appointments and diagnostic tests in the electronic scheduling system.
  • Secure precertifications and authorizations for diagnostic tests and admissions/transfers.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to patients and callers, answering incoming telephone calls and routing them appropriately.
  • Coordinate incoming and outgoing correspondence, ensuring timely and accurate communication.
  • File patient charts and assist with chart preparation.

Qualifications

No experience is required, as comprehensive on-the-job training is provided.
