About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Retail Sales Associate to join our team at TJ Maxx. As a Retail Sales Associate, you will be responsible for delivering an exceptional customer experience, maintaining a clean and organized store environment, and adhering to operational and merchandise standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Customer Experience:
    • Role model our customer service philosophy and provide a positive shopping experience for all customers.
    • Support a positive store culture and embody all aspects of a Green Culture Pulse.
    • Promote our loyalty programs and support Front End coverage as well as Dressing Room and Jewelry needs.
  • Human Resources:
    • Uphold a culture of honesty, integrity, and respect.
    • Communicate accurately and effectively with management and colleagues.
    • Accept recognition and constructive feedback.
    • Adhere to labor laws and Associate meal and break period policies.
  • Store Operations:
    • Maintain organizational, cleanliness, and recovery standards for sales floor and participate in maintenance/cleanliness of entire store.
    • Maintain floor care cleanliness standards including maintenance and operation of the scrubber and buffer.
    • Process and prep merchandise for sales floor following Door to Floor and Working Smart principles.
    • Adhere to Front End policy and procedures including ringing sequence and operational controls.
    • Balance register draws and or cash office as required.
    • Ensure go backs are properly tagged/hung and promptly returned to the sales floor.
  • Merchandising:
    • Maintain and uphold merchandising philosophy.
    • Adhere and uphold merchandise and signage standards.
    • Partner with Merchandise Coordinator to create and maintain compelling features, flexing the sales floor as needed.
    • Ensure merchandise is properly tagged, hung, secured, and coded.
    • Initiate and participate in store recovery as needed.
  • Loss Prevention & Safety:
    • Support and participate in store shrink reduction goals and programs.
    • Adhere to operational and loss prevention controls according to company guidelines and policies.
    • Identify and communicate alert signals and potential safety issues immediately to management/loss prevention to ensure a safe environment.
    • Do not engage in pursuit or apprehension of shoplifters.
    • Other duties as assigned.
