POSITION SUMMARY

The Facility Maintenance Technician plays a crucial role in ensuring that Plymouth residents enjoy a safe and clean living environment across all properties. Responsibilities encompass a wide range of janitorial tasks, including but not limited to the upkeep of communal bathrooms, showers, and toilets, as well as maintaining cleanliness in hallways, staircases, and common areas. Duties also involve vacuuming and shampooing carpets, preparing vacant units for new tenants, and ensuring the lobby area is well-maintained through cleaning, waxing floors, window washing, trash disposal, and changing light bulbs in shared spaces.

This role requires flexibility, as the technician may be reassigned to different properties based on operational needs.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conduct routine janitorial and maintenance tasks to uphold a clean and safe living and working environment, including individual units, offices, and exterior areas.
  • Perform regular cleaning duties in common areas, such as vacuuming, mopping, washing walls, and maintaining furnishings.
  • Safely remove garbage from buildings, adhering to established trash disposal protocols.
  • Monitor cleanliness and maintenance requirements throughout the facility.
  • Execute light maintenance and cleaning in vacated units as necessary.
  • Carry out floor stripping, waxing, and buffing in common areas and units during turnover.
  • Implement pest control measures, including treatments for bed bugs.
  • Change light bulbs in common areas as required.
  • Assist building maintenance staff and vendors, including rooftop safety escorts.
  • Support inventory management for supply closets as directed by the Facility Manager.
  • Participate in emergency response for flood or fire situations when requested.
  • Safely handle and dispose of hazardous materials, including human waste, in compliance with OSHA standards.
  • Collaborate with the Facility Manager to address and complete work orders.
  • Engage in scheduled team meetings and training sessions, including OSHA basic industry training.
  • Conduct pre-inspections on vacant units.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Facility Manager.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: High school diploma, GED, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.

Experience: Minimum of two years in janitorial or maintenance roles, preferably in multifamily or hospitality settings.

Licenses/Certifications:

Valid Washington State Driver's License with an insurable driving record.

Certification in fall prevention training or the ability to obtain certification within a reasonable timeframe.

Skills and Abilities:
