Position Overview:


ShieldsRx is in search of a driven and proactive individual eager to embark on a rewarding career within our rapidly expanding specialty pharmacy management services.

We are looking for experienced pharmacy technicians who hold registration with their respective State. While national certification as a CPhT is preferred, it is not mandatory.

A key requirement for this role is the ability to work autonomously while building strong, credible relationships with patients, healthcare providers, and internal ShieldsRx personnel.

Candidates should possess a results-oriented mindset, a positive attitude, and a strong focus on delivering high-quality patient care and service. Attention to detail and robust organizational skills are essential. The ideal candidate will be mature, approachable, and professional, capable of interacting effectively with others both in person and over the phone.

Reliability, tolerance, determination, and the ability to empathize with others are crucial traits for success in this role.

Most importantly, the candidate must be a collaborative team player.
This role involves providing integrated support to patients and pharmacists through a 'hands-on' approach to comprehensive patient care.

Working closely with patients, you will deliver a full spectrum of medication adherence support by utilizing our various tools and applications.

You will encourage patients from specialty clinics to leverage pharmacy services to fully benefit from our exceptional patient care offerings.

As the Pharmacy Liaison, your integration with the clinic team (including doctors, nurses, and staff) is vital for achieving success.


Key Responsibilities:
Deliver exemplary care to hospital patients through a comprehensive suite of customized medication management services.
Collaborate seamlessly with hospital clinicians as part of the clinic team to assist patients both in person and via phone.
Educate potential pharmacy patients on how the hospital enhances their overall care experience.
Support outpatient retail and specialty prescription medication requirements.
Expand the patient population for specialty pharmacies.
Ensure patients adhere to their medication regimens through proactive outreach and refill management.

Communicate effectively with the centralized Patient Service Center regarding refill reports, zero-fill reports, monthly outstanding reports, and appointment lists.

Assist in developing new processes to enhance operational efficiency and patient care.
Identify medications that require special handling or storage, including hazardous and refrigerated medications.
Determine necessary supplies for specific medications, such as sharps containers and alcohol swabs.
Address, resolve, and triage incoming inquiries.
Conduct refill reminder calls under pharmacist supervision.
Assist patients with insurance-related issues, including prior authorizations and financial assistance options.
Ensure accurate documentation in all required systems and tracking mechanisms.
Manage and update relevant data using database applications.
Apply insights and recommendations to operational challenges, boosting productivity, quality, and customer service standards.
Identify trends, resolve issues, recommend enhancements, and implement changes.
Actively engage in process improvement initiatives.
Serve as a valuable business partner to stakeholders throughout the organization.
Safeguard the organization's integrity by maintaining confidentiality.
Enhance knowledge through participation in educational opportunities, professional publications, networking, and professional organizations.
Exhibit a willingness to contribute to the overall success of ShieldsRx.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Skills:
Strong interpersonal communication skills, ability to work independently, sound judgment, and proficiency in verbal and written communication. Highly skilled in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word; quick to learn new software and extract relevant information; strong organizational and administrative skills are essential.

Additional Attributes:

Specialized Knowledge:
Familiarity with transplant, hepatitis C, infectious diseases (including HIV), and/or oncology is advantageous.

Experience and Education:

Licensure/Certification Requirements:
We seek experienced pharmacy technicians who are registered in their respective states. National certification as a CPhT or equivalent is strongly preferred but not mandatory.

Should additional licensure be required, the applicant must commit to obtaining it within a mutually agreed timeframe.

Continued employment is contingent upon meeting these requirements.

Experience:
Minimum of 2 years required; 3-5 years preferred as a Pharmacy Technician.

Education:
High School Diploma or GED is required.
