POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Audio Visual (AV) Specialist II is tasked with overseeing and enhancing the AV infrastructure at FireKeepers Casino Hotel. This role involves routine evaluations of all AV apparatus to ensure optimal functionality. The specialist will provide technical assistance throughout the venue, particularly during events, showcasing a robust proficiency in troubleshooting AV devices and systems.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

The following outlines the primary responsibilities of the Audio Visual (AV) Specialist II. Additional tasks may be assigned based on operational needs and management directives. All responsibilities must be executed in compliance with Tribal, Federal, and other relevant regulations, as well as organizational policies and procedures.
  • Interpret and analyze room schematics for AV configuration needs.
  • Guarantee the complete setup and dismantling of AV equipment for all events.
  • Address inquiries from the AV Manager.
  • Act as a point of escalation for AV Technician I's.
  • Diagnose issues with AV equipment and systems.
  • Provide AV support during events.
  • Offer basic training on AV equipment operation to clients as required.
  • Collaborate closely with all IT departments to ensure prompt resolution of AV equipment issues.
  • Maintain cleanliness, organization, and upkeep of AV equipment.
  • Document and report any equipment damages to the AV Manager.
  • Assist with inventory management, asset tracking, and storage of AV equipment.
  • Participate in AV team meetings and training sessions.
  • Prioritize safety and security within FireKeepers Casino Hotel.
  • Stay informed about emergency protocols and troubleshoot concerns throughout the facility.
  • Timely escalate unresolved and critical system issues to AV Technician III's, AV Engineers, and the AV Manager.
  • Deliver exceptional user support and maintain positive interactions with guests, colleagues, and supervisors. Engage guests warmly, treating each individual with respect and professionalism. Exhibit proficiency in addressing user and guest concerns through active listening to fully understand issues as they arise.
  • Comprehend the organization's goals and vision, demonstrating commitment to these objectives through individual and team performance.
  • Manage multiple tasks and projects effectively.
  • Uphold the highest standards of confidentiality.
Minimum Qualifications

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Applicants must possess the education, training, and experience necessary to demonstrate the ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

The following qualifications are representative of the education, experience, skills, and/or abilities required to successfully perform the essential duties and responsibilities:

A high school diploma, GED, or equivalent. A combination of a technical degree or certification and three years of AV technical experience. Advanced understanding of AV equipment, computers, applications, and technology. Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team setting. Must be at least 21 years of age.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

A bachelor's degree in a related field and three years of experience in an AV technical environment. Experience with advanced AV systems such as Crestron, Q-sys, CoolSign, BrightSign, ETC/Mosaic, SVSi, or similar is preferred. Professional experience serving as a point of contact for escalations or in a lead capacity.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety regulations, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals. Capable of researching and compiling resources for knowledge bases, SOPs, and projects. Will write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to communicate effectively before groups of customers or employees.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to perform basic arithmetic operations and work with various mathematical concepts, including probability and statistical inference.

REASONING ABILITY

Must demonstrate the ability to identify and define issues, collect and document relevant data for analysis, and exhibit effective analytical and systematic troubleshooting skills. Ability to interpret a wide range of technical documentation.

PHYSICAL & ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by a team member to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

This position requires the ability to sit or stand at a computer, regularly conduct property assessments, and lift up to 70lbs. The AV Specialist II will work on ladders, manage inventory in the AV/IT warehouse, and perform AV-related tasks throughout the property.

Must be able to thrive in a bustling casino environment, which includes exposure to smoke, flashing lights, loud noises, and crowds.
