REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must have successfully completed the ETS Parapro Assessment or possess an equivalent Associate's Degree from an accredited institution.
  • Prior experience in a related capacity is preferred.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Possess foundational knowledge of engaging with young learners.
  • Support the classroom educator in executing lesson plans and classroom activities, including behavioral intervention strategies.
  • Participate in weekly staff meetings and additional gatherings as necessary.
  • Aid in the design and execution of educational initiatives.
  • Manage student behavior using approved interventions and techniques.
  • Assist students in achieving their educational objectives while providing necessary academic support as directed by the classroom educator.
  • Help prepare instructional materials for teaching and classroom displays.
  • Independently facilitate small group sessions.
  • Support instructional staff in supervising students during non-classroom periods.
  • May be required to lift up to 50 lbs. independently and push over 100 lbs.
  • Be aware of students' medical needs and follow established protocols under the guidance of a nurse when appropriate.
  • Document student progress concerning academic and non-academic goals.
  • Maintain confidentiality, ensuring no disruption to teacher-parent communications.
  • Comply with all board policies.
  • Supervise students in the absence of the teacher.
